How many points do a circle make?

The deserts have no hope,
for their sand cannot cope.
The planets wander dazed,
in their drunken elliptic craze.
The stars drift apart,
even they lack the art.

Still, circles there are. We are one.

Those which seek embrace,
should know that point arithmetic
is a futile chase.
A point added,
a point taken.
The circle still remains.

And yet, in the darkness of space,
one cannot help but wonder...
